Christiaensen Luc
Head of the World Bank’s Rome Jobs and Labor Mobility Center
Luc Christiaensen is Lead Agricultural Economist in the Jobs Group and Head of its Jobs and Labor Mobility Center in Rome. He has written extensively about and contributed to policy dialogues on issues related to food security, poverty and jobs; agriculture, structural transformation, and urbanization; as well as the effects of shocks, disasters and risk management in Africa, East Asia, and Europe. He was a core member of the 2008 World Development Report “Agriculture for Development”. During 2009-2010, he was Senior Research Fellow at UNU-WIDER in Helsinki, Finland during 2009-2010. He holds a PhD in agricultural economics from Cornell University.
